It Started with Two Friends, One Idea
In 1958, lifelong friends set out to build a business they could call their own. The two had grown up together in Chicago, attending the same schools from grade school through high school. What they started that year would become one of the longest-running awning manufacturers in the region.
They believed in two things: do the work right, and take care of the customer. Over six decades later, those two ideas still anchor everything Chesterfield Awning does.

A Heritage That Reaches Back to 1890
Chesterfield Awning has called Chicagoland and the greater Midwest home for over six decades. Through a series of acquisitions over that time, our company carries the heritage and craftsmanship of awning businesses that have shaded Chicago since the late 1800s.
When you work with Chesterfield, you’re working with a company whose lineage runs through the original Chicago awning makers, the businesses that covered the storefronts, homes, and institutions of generations before us. We’ve consolidated that craft, that experience, and that institutional knowledge into one company. Chesterfield Awning is headquartered in South Holland, Illinois, just off the I-94 corridor. Our facility is where the fabric awnings, canopies, architectural canopies, shade sails, and custom metal structures we manufacture are designed, sewn, fabricated, and prepared for installation. For premium retractable systems and pergolas we source from trusted industry partners, our facility is where we receive shipments and prep them for install.
The same facility powers our full service ecosystem. Awning cleaning, seasonal takedown and storage, repairs, fabric recovers, and motor service all run through our shop, so the team that builds your awning is the same team that cares for it for years to come.
We serve customers across Chicagoland and the greater Midwest, in more than 150 communities. We’re proud to serve over 150 communities across the region.
